Lyer & Aluraios | Offer

"Think about it." Ydora finished as she wheeled herself out the room, the Chair giving her an air of regality and power than her own body could never bestow.

Lyer watched the Mage disappear round the corner before turning to Aluraios, a large smile lighting up his face like a ray of sunlight. "You can become immortal!" He cried, stroking the grey feather in his hand gently, "We can be together!" The smile crumpled into a look of worry as the elation died and Aluraios's shocked expression penetrated. "What's wrong?"

"I've never wanted a relationship to go on for this long, 8 years is a long time..." Aluraios said softly, avoiding his partner's eyes. "I never wanted anyone to love me like you do, and I never intended to keep this relationship this long. I've never wanted to rely on someone else staying alive for me to be alive, even though the possibilities never come up before, I've never wanted commitment, and I've never wanted to be bound..."

The bed jerked and Aluraios flung out a futile hand as the vampire let out a low mourning keen in a throat that was already half transformed and ran from the room, black feathers drifting in the darkened room. He closed his fingers slowly as the grey feather that Lyer had dropped in his flight landed in them and touched his cheek with it slowly.

"You didn't let me finish." he said softly to the silent walls, finishing his speech in barely a whisper, his eyes fixed on the spot where Lyer had disappeared, "But then, I didn't expect to fall in love with you."
