Light burst into the shadows in the deepest corner of the room, and Lyer reluctantly rolled towards it, bringing a lethargic hand up to protect his sight. The other side of the bed was empty, and its earlier occupant stood at the now open window, his arms outstretched in greeting, and his head bowed in honour, to the dawning sun. "'Rios!" Lyer muttered, tentatively opening sensitive eyes until they adjusted to the painfully bright sunlight. "Why in hell did I fall for a morning person?"
"Go back to sleep," the slim silhouette stretched upwards, before pushing his arms out in front of him to stretch the slender arms, then relaxed. "I'm going hunting, and paying that rent we owe."
"Shut the window and go out the door then."
"Spoilsport."
"I believe /you're/ the one who insisted we got to sleep early last night?"
"Because Dak's got a big Court tonight, and we agreed we'd go."
"You just like shocking whatever poor steward he's put on duty." The pillow muffled Lyer's voice as he buried his face in it.
There was a rich chuckle, and the window shut, plunging the room back into comfortable darkness. Soft lips rested on Lyer's head for a moment, then the door opened and closed with a squeaky whisper. With a smile the vampire gave in again to the sleep that overtook him.
